Is anyone else hungry? I think I’m gonna go make some bananas Foster. You go and make some, too, and then come back and eat it while reading this:

The Rules

There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.

OR

No really; I need rules!

Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.

The Prompts:

Party on Mars*
A large bird told me
Planning for the past
Happily buried
Screaming window**

Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and link back to today’s post (here’s a video on how to do it); I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. No blog? Email your piece to me at bekindrewrite (at) yahoo (dot) com.

Happy writing!

*Inspired by a recent Vlogbrothers video.

**Inspired by my car. Which is going to take $300 to fix. Seriously? I don’t even need the window to go up and down, I just need it to stay up and not scream at me on the highway. Such is life.

  1. This happened to a friend of mine’s car – we just pulled the lining off the inside of the door and superglued a nail under the window. His window stayed up. Although this won’t work with electric windows…

    • Yeah, it’s an electric window. First, the window just slid open unbidden and wouldn’t stay up. So we pulled the front of the door off, propped the glass up with a stick, and put the door back together. It was fine for about a week but the glass has slid down again just slightly, so when I get above 60 mph it starts screaming at me. I didn’t try superglue, although my mechanic did use duct tape at one point…that’s what we rednecks do, dontcha know. ; )

  5. Not quite like the inspiration for your ‘Screaming Window’ but it fit in perfectly with a piece I’d thought up. http://awriterisborn.wordpress.com/2012/06/09/screaming-window/

  7. Sorry guys, just got home and its 2300hrs here in the UK, so there’s no way I’ll get a story done before bed time. Been up since 0500 to get No1 son to the train so he could get to a job interview in London, and now I’m pooped!

I’ll try and get on in for next week
