This week in the House of InMon: Dipping my toes into the publishing world again. Things have changed since I was last exploring here. Books about 18- to 35-year-olds have their own genre now: “New Adult,” while “Young Adult” has NOT been changed to something like “Pre-Adult.” And agents are tracking their manuscript wish lists with #MSWL. Biggest thing the market seems starved for? Books with minority protagonists. So if you’ve got one, dig it out and dust it off.
And now for our top stories:

The Rules
There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.
OR
No really; I need rules!
Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.
The Prompts:*
Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and then give me the link in the comments below (I’ll also love you more if you link back to me); I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. No blog? Email your piece to me at stephanie (at) bekindrewrite (dot) com. (I do reserve the right to NOT link to a piece as stated in my Link Discretion Policy.)
Plus, get the InMon badge for your site here.
Happy writing!

* This week’s prompts another joint effort with Jubilare.
Or… try to finish it? *sigh* who knows what the market will look like once I’m ready to try. 😛
I love “heart control,” though the muse hasn’t bitten down yet.
Likely the market will be saturated with minority protagonists by then, but I doubt they’ll be those of Rosa’s ilk.
If the muse bites late, it’s still welcome. : )
Since I am neither young, nor a minority, this may be a difficult writing goal. Considering how it’s been around Casa del Roberts lately, “Fresh Crazies,” is most appropriate.
Eh, the timing rarely works out when people try to write to the market. Just write what you love!

With a prompt like “This was all buildings,” I just had to go there: https://article94.wordpress.com/2016/10/10/moonrise-ch22-old-friends/
