Inspiration Monday: Ground Control

0 Flares Filament.io 0 Flares ×

This week in InMon Towers: Finding things in my purse that might seriously worry a law enforcement agent, even though there are perfectly innocent reasons for all of them. In other news, I never found the tape measure, which is what I was looking for in the first place.

And now for our top stories:

The Rules

There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.

OR

No really; I need rules!

Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.

The Prompts:*

GROUND CONTROL

TIME SENSITIVE

LIVING ROOM

BRAIN STORMS

SERIAL SET

Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and then give me the link in the comments below (I’ll also love you more if you link back to me); I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. No blog? Email your piece to me at stephanie (at) bekindrewrite (dot) com. (I do reserve the right to NOT link to a piece as stated in my Link Discretion Policy.)

Plus, get the InMon badge for your site here.

Happy writing!

Title prompt, obviously, for Mr. Bowie. Two of these week’s prompts courtesy of Jubilare.

  1. This is one reason I keep my tape-measure on my key-ring.
Also, very curious as to what the other items were. Are you packing plutonium to power your flux-capacitor?

    • Bullet casings (they randomly fall in there when I go to the range), razor blades (to scrape the registration sticker off my car; Texas just switched to a one-sticker system) and a zip tie (to secure the papasan chair my parents gave me for Christmas).

I keep the plutonium in my other purse.

  2. Cleaning my purse is like a memory game with fading receipts from restaurants and shops or movie tickets of long forgotten movies and me trying to remember who I was with and where we were or what we were doing…
Although it’s a tad late, but wish you a happy new(ish) year! 🙂
