Inspiration Monday: Where Wolf

0 Flares Filament.io 0 Flares ×

This week in InMonamana (doo doo, doodoodoo): Holly, one of the designers I work with, did a couple of cool covers for NaNoWriMo. In other news, Think Geek is opening a store near me. A real store! What a time to be alive.

And now for our top stories.

The Rules

There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.

OR

No really; I need rules!

Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.

The Prompts:

WHERE WOLF

HEART CONTROL

FEAST OF FAMINE

FORGOTTEN BUT NOT GONE

LEAD BALLOON

Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and then give me the link in the comments below (I’ll also love you more if you link back to me); I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. 1. Is it just me, or does “Where Wolf” sound like it needs to be treated by Dr. Seuss?

On a side-note, you might have to move in order to avoid the dangers of a Think Geek store. I mean, the website is dangerous enough!

    • It does sound like an excellent Dr. Seuss book. Maybe without the body-hiding, but definitely with some funny looking Muppet people. I think my first intro to Glove and Boots was their PSA about vertical iPhone videos.

Think Geek store. Definitely dangerous. But I’m thinking of the no shipping, no waiting benefits. Especially since I do a lot of my Christmas shopping on Think Geek.

      • That’s a good one. ^_^ Most of my favorite posts of theirs are in seasons 1 and 2, but they still have a fun one now and again, so I like to keep up. Yay puppets!
Knowing you, you’ve probably seen this one, but it’s one of my favorites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75nBenOWul0

While I understand that’s good for Christmas shopping, I still can’t help but think it a liability for the rest of the year. Most of what keeps me from going broke is that I have to stop and think “do I really want this that much? Do I?” It’s harder to do that when the thing is sitting right there mocking me! But maybe that’s just me.

        • I hadn’t seen that, actually! That’s fantastic.

I’m actually pretty good at not buying things most of the time. I’m very rarely in the mood to spend money. But I think that’s unusual. But having a bricks-and-mortar ThinkGeek may change that. We shall see.

  2. Here is my tale for this week ~ 🙂

  4. I’ve been singing “99 Luft Balloons” all day, but subbing Lead for Luft.

  5. Here is a a different response ~ “Gone but not Forgotten” ~ Sorry about the repetitive “Where Wolf” story. My iPad is playing up. Peace!

  6. “Lead Balloon” really spoke to me. My story is “Protect and Serve”: http://adanramie.com/2015/12/17/weekly-flash-fiction-protect-and-serve/
