Inspiration Monday: Succor Punch

0 Flares Filament.io 0 Flares ×

This week on InMonster Island: The cool weather has arrived, and even shut up indoors, bottled in air conditioning, and covered in blankets, you can feel the difference in the air. In other news, if you’ve ever wished you could be a fly on the wall for the conversation between Lucas, Spielberg and Kasdan when they created Indiana Jones, you can sort of do that.

And now for our top stories:

The Rules

There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.

OR

No really; I need rules!

Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.

The Prompts:

Succor Punch

Night Fall

Day Break

People Food

Wined Back the Clock

  1. Howdy folks! Got an entertaining one this week (I think) so hope you like it.

    Cheers!

  2. “you can feel the difference in the air” Hallelujah! Fall being my favorite season, and all, this has me so happy I can hardly stand it. My muse, too, is being the voracious, manic thing that it usually is, come Autumn.

Also. I am in love with the prompt Succor Punch. Muse hasn’t latched onto it yet (it’s chewing on so many other things right now) but I hope it will…

    • It’s warmed up again here, but the Fall feeling is still there. It’s got me writing bits of book 2, however, rather than working on part 4, so maybe you’re problem is contagious.

I think “Succor Punch” is just destined to become an energy drink. Some sort of tropical green tea concoction college students buy in cans. Or maybe it’s a new cocktail I have to invent. Hmmm…

      • Either it’s contagious or it’s an author-specific Seasonal Affective Disorder? I’ve gotten the cute li’l rat-bastard to step back a bit, so maybe I can work on editing the next chapter now. I’m also chewing on upcoming plot weirdness that I am not looking forward to dealing with. :\

Definitely a cocktail. It’s too esoteric for an energy drink, but absolutely hilariously perfect for an alcohol conveyance.
