The Rules

There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.

No really; I need rules!

Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.

The Prompts:

Afraid of the Light

Prism Sentence*

Fractal Claws*

Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and then give me the link in the comments below (I’ll also love you more if you link back to me); I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. No blog? Email your piece to me at stephanie (at) bekindrewrite (dot) com. (I do reserve the right to NOT link to a piece as stated in my Link Discretion Policy.)

Plus, get the InMon badge for your site here.

Happy writing!

*Thanks again to Jubilare for the prompts.

  1. I’ve found that if you think your eye is twitching, then it is… Also, maybe this InMon prompt will make you feel ok about not sleeping enough. ^_~ This one actually uses Prism Sentence, Afraid of the Light, and in an oblique way, Autoimmobile. 🙂
The idea of Fractal Claws is awesome and terrifying… but I really regret not being able to figure out how to use Backwords.

  2. I am new to this blog. Soooooo Hi! *waves* Anyway, I accepted your InMon challenge with the words “Prism Sentence”. I hope you all enjoy what I came up with.

  3. “Afraid of the Light” just fell into place with my other prompts this week. Here’s “Personal Monsters”:

  4. Thank you for including our story in the links!
I find my eye (usually the left one) develops a tic when I’m very stressed.

  5. Thanks for the extra time… here’s mine with “Afraid of the Light”

  6. Might be cutting it TOO close but here’s my entry:

As usual my modus operandi is to try and work as many of the prompt phrases into my story as possible. 🙂
