Never underestimate the power of a good cup of tea.

The Rules
There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.
OR
No really; I need rules!
Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.
The Prompts:
FAMOUS SECRET
LOVE AT FIRST FIGHT
KEY CHAIN
MAKING STRANGERS
THE PENULTIMATE STRAW
Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and then give me the link in the comments below (I’ll also love you more if you link back to me); I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. No blog? Email your piece to me at stephanie (at) bekindrewrite (dot) com. (I do reserve the right to NOT link to a piece as stated in my Link Discretion Policy.)
Plus, get the InMon badge for your site here.
Happy writing!

“Never underestimate the power of a good cup of tea.” Damn straight. There’s sometimes more power in a good cup of tea than in all the oceans of the world. 🙂
Also, penultimate is a fantastic word. One of my characters stirred a little at “making strangers,” but he hasn’t given me anything solid yet. Here’s hoping he changes his mind.
You don’t realize it, especially if you drink tea very often (you start to think the English are merely exaggerating), until you have a day when you are just walking around feeling like the living dead and all ill and depressed and then you drink tea and it’s like – sunshine, hallelujah chorus, what is this sorcery?
I hope your character continues to stir.
Yep. Even though I drink tea every day, I touch it too my lips and I can’t help but thank God for making tea bushes and the folks who figured out how to make the drink. I love coffee, too, but it doesn’t seem to have half the soothing and empowering quality of tea.
He’s still mulling. Knowing him, I may eventually get the latest inMon submission you’ve ever had. 😛 Is that even legal, in InMon world?
Yeah, I’d say coffee’s more like oxygen, whereas tea is medicinal, or like a vitamin of something. Though I have been known to be soothed by coffee on some occasions, generally it’s sleeves-rolling-upping rather than calming.
Oh! InMon prompt! Vitamin Tea.
Oh yes! Going on tonight’s list. Bless you. It’s a struggle sometimes.
P.S. Forgot to mention – practically everything is legal in InMon world. I’ve posted late responses before. They are generally worth it. : )
10-4. 🙂
And if you ever need help digging up prompts, prod me and I’ll see if anything comes to mind.
I might just take you up on that. Please accept a general invitation, if you stumble across any intriguing phrases, to send them my way.
Went for the penultimate straw.

“Making Strangers” called out to me: https://article94.wordpress.com/2015/01/20/16sunsets-confluence-ii/
“Key Chain” made me all nostalgic for my younger years:

Making Strangers was the perfect prompt for chapter 4 of Asteroid Rake. I’m already looking forward to the next prompt to see how my protagonist will respond to his current situation! https://quest4peas.wordpress.com/2015/01/22/asteroid-rake-ch-4/
I’ve been baking a lot lately, “famous secret” reminded me of cookies.
