I underwent an introduction to anime yesterday, courtesy of my brother-in-law. He loaded me up with a few starter series. So continues the slow descent into madness.
And does anyone else find subtitles tiring on the eyes? Or maybe it’s just that I stare at a computer for 10+ hours per day. That could be it.
But what can I say? It’s worth it. As are these:

The Rules
There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.
OR
No really; I need rules!
Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.
The Prompts:
THE FASTIDIOUS AND THE FURIOUS
IT’LL GROW ON YOU
QUEST FOR NOTHING
FARM FRESH INSANITY
FINGERS IN THE STARS
Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and then give me the link in the comments below (I’ll also love you more if you link back to me); I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. No blog? Email your piece to me at stephanie (at) bekindrewrite (dot) com. (I do reserve the right to NOT link to a piece as stated in my Link Discretion Policy.)
Plus, get the InMon badge for your site here.
Happy writing!

I went with “Farm Fresh Insanity,” but no mad cows.

This is written in response to the “Fingers in the Stars” prompt. Hope you enjoy! http://quest4peas.wordpress.com/2015/01/01/asteroid-rake/
“It’ll grow on you” was one of the inspirations for the story I called “Slam”:

Ah, my friend, be careful with anime. It can be horribly addicting, and it will introduce you to a whole new set of tropes! Your brain will never be quite the same afterwards. 😉
I think it’s too late. I’ve finished season 1 of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, I’ve already got season 2 and four other animes waiting for me…just waiting for me on my computer. I like that the eps and seasons are short, so you complete arcs faster. The only annoying thing is the squeakiness of all the female characters.
I’ve not seen that one, as of yet, but I know what you mean about the squeaky as it’s pretty prevalent in the medium. It’s not universal, though, thank goodness!
Quest for Nothing: https://article94.wordpress.com/2015/01/03/quest-for-nothing/
Here goes. I did all 5 prompts, much to my dismay. There will be new entries in the Urban Dictionary this night, dear Stephanie. It’s another one of the asteroid prison stories, called: “The gathering pickle”. Hey, don’t judge me, Missy. Farm fresh insanity, indeed. Lucy
