Three day weekends are the best, y’all. Managed to get quite a bit done!
Ha. You know you’re committed when you get time off from your writing job and you spend it writing.
Don’t worry; I also watched a LOT of Netflix, and finished a book. Didn’t like the book, though.
I liked these better:

The Rules
There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.
OR
No really; I need rules!
Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.
The Prompts:
SUNSET AT DAWN
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS
ODD-LOOKING WEAPON
PAN-DIMENSIONAL PANDEMONIUM
WHICH REALITY?
Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and then give me the link in the comments below (I’ll also love you more if you link back to me); I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. No blog? I used your prompt and two others to create this piece.

Ach, that’s a shame about the book. What were you watching, though? I’ll get to the e-mail shortly.
Friends and I have been binge-watching Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. Have you seen ’em?
The usual suspects. 2-3 eps of Buffy (it took FOREVER but Slouchy McBroody has FINALLY left town!), 3-4 eps of BSG, and my weekly ep of Merlin. There might have been a movie somewhere in there, too. I’ve just found out they are taking BSG off Instant next month, and I’m still only halfway through season 2. So I’ll have to see how many I can watch before then, and I guess order discs afterwards.
I haven’t watched Miss Fisher.
And OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS.
I just opened Netflix to search for Miss Fisher and add it to my list when I see now there is a Facebook connectivity function which allows you to recommend shows you’ve watched to certain friends. I literally just told my brother I wanted this feature (minus the Facebook part) a few weeks ago. I am telling you, my house is bugged. Well. My brother’s house is.
I bet you were relieved. I sure was! Another friend started watching Buffy a while back and she actually likes Slouchy… to each their own, but I can’t stand him.
Miss Fisher’s mysteries are very fun, at least in my opinion. Great cast of characters, entertaining writing and a turnabout-is-fair-play feminist streak. I’d love to know what you think when you get to it. 🙂
That’s a shame about BSG! Why on Kobol would they take it down?
…you may need a shirt that says something like “Big Brother is watching my brother.”
I liked Slouchy in the beginning when everybody made fun of him for being Slouchy. And I liked him without a soul – he was very amusing then. But now he’s just become too pathetic.
I know! BSG is still listed in the “Popular on Netflix” section. I suspect they only have a certain amount of funds to pay for the rights to stream everything, so they have to rotate it. Their contract with BSG’s owner is likely up and they may renew it after awhile. Meanwhile I just finished season 2 and am mourning a certain favorite character. Augh!!!
He’s my older brother, too, so it could say “Big Brother is watching my big brother.”
True, he can be fun when he’s not mopey. I’m just too bloody tired of the run-of-the-mill moody, conflicted vampire. 😛
Hm… is this favorite character female?
Even better.
Yes, gahhh it’s like Twilight but with less breathing.
No, it was Billy. Why??? What female character dies??? Except for Ellen, and I don’t like her except to pity her.
Don’t tell me!!!
Ah… Billy. That one made me cry, twice if you include Roslin’s reaction. If you’ve finished season 2, then the death I was thinking about already happened, but maybe you didn’t care enough about the character to be as affected by it as I was.
Definitely – Roslin is amazing and when she loses it, so do I.
…I can’t think of anyone else who died except for Maya, and we didn’t really get to know her.
A little history and a little folklore

Here’s my contribution to this week’s prompt…

My first contribution to the Inspiration Monday challenge. It’s a combination of this and two other challenges.

Well, Stephanie, ‘sunset at dawn’ just made me think of old Westerns. And for some reason, I kept hearing Johnny Cash’s voice in my head! Anyway, I hope you enjoy what I came up with: Ode to Johnny Sunset.

Here is submission for your consideration.

It’s called The White Desert
Lucy
Elosha. Any death that effected Roslin effected me very strongly. She really is amazing in this show, though she’s not alone, in that.
Sadly, I had to Google Elosha to remember who she was. I do remember being upset that Roslin was upset, but it wasn’t near my Billy reaction. Now I’m past where Kat dies, and when Adama sat down to stay with her until she died, I really lost it.
