Inspiration Monday: Silent Conversation

0 Flares Filament.io 0 Flares ×

I forgot about Goodreads and then was meaning to get back on it, and lo and behold, I actually remembered my login! Now I intend to catalog my entire library! Bwahahahahahahaha. Then back to having conversations with myself about how I already have too many books, no that’s ridiculous, you can never have too many books.

Just like you can never have too much flash fiction:

The Rules

There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.

OR

No really; I need rules!

Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.

The Prompts:

SILENT CONVERSATION

CANDY FROM A GROWNUP

LET’S PLAY DROP

PINS AND KNITTING NEEDLES

NEW KIND OF MAGIC

Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and then give me the link in the comments below (I’ll also love you more if you link back to me); I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. 1. That’s funny you mention Goodreads. I’ve been saving to-be-reads in my Amazon cart for years. I had 172 items in there. Over the weekend I moved all the books to my Goodreads account. And cleaned it up a bit as I did it. But wow, do I have a lot to read.

    • Ditto. I’m reading around seven different books right now, and a friend just lent me three more. And that’s barely even touching all the things I need to read. There are an alarming number of classics I haven’t read.

  2. My first time in this ring, but I have been watching. 😉

  3. Here is my return to the fun. It’s a long piece of an even longer piece I’m currently working on. Comments and suggestions are appreciated. http://perceptivepotcluelesskettle.wordpress.com/2014/03/25/aces-and-eights/

  4. I’ve got one! It’s called Number 17. Let me know what you think! http://chriswhitewrites.com/2014/03/26/number-17/

  5. Had to do it, had to use all of the prompt words. I’ve always wanted to and this time they demanded I attempt it. Words are funny like that: http://thematticuskingdom.wordpress.com/2014/03/27/its-a-good-game/

  6. I finally made it back, only to go running off in a random direction with “silent conversation.”

  7. Hi! Guess who is back> 😀
Okay so this piece is a little rough for the writer is a bit rusty. For a change I tried to not over think it much and just go with the flow. That is why I just wrote what I felt like when I saw the prompt. If you have the time, do let me know what you think of my writing style, grammar and overall story.
