Inspiration Monday: The Doctor is Sick

0 Flares Filament.io 0 Flares ×

To the British InMonsters: y’all aren’t those folks posting Sherlock spoilers on Pinterest, are you? ‘Cause seriously, it’s like England is trying to get back at America for that whole independence thing. For crying out loud, that was 200 years ago! What would River Song say???

Here, let’s consume some content that gets released to all countries simultaneously:

The Rules

There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.

OR

No really; I need rules!

Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.

The Prompts:

THE DOCTOR IS SICK

  1. No, it’s not me, but given how often you get TV shows first, and how blasé your countrymen are about spoiling Lost, Heroes, Prison Break etc, I’m afraid I haven’t got a lot of sympathy!

  2. I have not joined the Sherlock craze so any spoilers have been lost on me…
Anyway, my character has spoilers of his own with which to contend: http://starvingactivist.com/blog/2014/01/21/write-now-21-january-2014-meets-inspiration-monday-for-20-january-2014-the-doctor-is-sick/

  3. Your web site is… being weird. I use Firefox, and it is showing up as a jumble.

    • I know! I’m trying to fix it. It keeps going down, too. : (

      • If there’s some way I can help, something I could kick or someone I could harass, let me know. 🙁

        • Thanks!!! I’m in touch with my webhost, but they can’t “replicate” the problem. They instructed me to send a screen shot if it happens again. So…if it happens to you again, if you wouldn’t mind taking a screen shot and emailing it to me?

I’ve seen the site lose its formatting various times recently and I don’t know if it’s my caching plugin or what. Most of this web stuff is Greek to me. : /

I also just downloaded the new version of WordPress today – maybe that will fix the bugs.

  4. OK, I’ve avoided any mention of Sherlock and veered off to another well-loved BBC series instead. Mature content (language) warning.

  5. Hi Stephanie!

Here’s this week’s InMon! Fun to write, unfortunately not so sure about the quality.
