Inspiration Monday: Extra Strength

0 Flares Filament.io 0 Flares ×

Computer crisis averted! Well, dealt with. I’m back and running with all the important files intact. I really can’t stress enough how important it is that you back up all your files. Preferably some kind of automatic backup you don’t have to remember to do. I use Evernote (free) for notes and Carbonite (not free, but worth it) for docs and everything else. If it worked for Han Solo, it’ll work for you!

In other news, veteran InMonster Kay Camden has just published her first novel. Go check it out.

And two lovely InMonsters have managed to create something this last week of NaNoWriMo!

The Rules

There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.

OR

No really; I need rules!

Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.

The Prompts:

EXTRA STRENGTH

THE ONE WHO LIVED

BURROW

FARADAY

SUBSTITUTE PEOPLE

  1. Huzzah! Not losing files is the thing of most importance.

  2. Agreed – back up, save, duplicate, store, do everything you can to make sure you don’t ever lose anything on your computer. I’ve had too many major computer crashes over the years where things were lost forever to not have learned that lesson and make sure I save everything in two places now.

In other news, here is my response this week: http://thematticuskingdom.wordpress.com/2013/11/26/chores-tackled-for-a-price/
Fun, fun, fun. Thanks, as always, for the wonderful prompts.

  3. I’m glad you’re back and the damage was minimal. I have some pirates for you this week.
