Inspiration Monday: The Man with No Name

0 Flares Filament.io 0 Flares ×

Eating Sour Patch Kids and wondering what “invert sugar” is. It’s the second ingredient. Is that like the opposite of sugar? Genetically modified to reverse the effects of the first ingredient? Is it going to mutate me into an unrecognizable whatsit?

Also, are Sour Patch Kids just the older, jaded version of Jelly Babies?

These are the questions that plague me.

Let us read these to calm our minds:

The Rules

There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.

OR

No really; I need rules!

Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.

The Prompts:

THE MAN WITH NO NAME

ALWAYS UNDERESTIMATED

TRAINED FROM BIRTH

CUT AND PASTE

MASTERPIECES

Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and link back to today’s post (here’s a video on how to do it); I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. No blog? Email your piece to me at bekindrewrite (at) yahoo (dot) com. (I do reserve the right to NOT link to a piece as stated in my Link Discretion Policy.)

Plus, get the InMon badge for your site here.

Happy writing!

  3. So much fun! Thanks again for the fun prompts. I had a tough time deciding which one to use again this week, but ended up going with “cut and paste.” http://thematticuskingdom.wordpress.com/2013/07/23/bulking-up/

  4. I have a story ready to post this week, but not really sure how to get on here. I left my link in the comments last time (couple of weeks ago), but maybe it was late & that’s why it wasn’t included??? (If was during the week after the prompts had posted on that Monday.) I’m assuming the prompt is put up on the one Monday and then the links added into the next, but if that’s not the case, please let me know – because I’d be late again. Just trying to figure the system out and be part of the community, as able. Thanks so much!

    • Hi Jody – you got it exactly right; the previous week’s links are posted with the current week’s prompts – and you were included! You can see your name linked here. I do still occasionally miss people, so don’t be afraid to speak up if I fail to link back! I also try to read and comment on each piece, so if you don’t see a comment from “Stephanie” on your site within a week, that’s another clue I overlooked your link. Sorry for any confusion!

      • oh cool – thanks, Stephanie. And thanks for having me – just be patient as I get acclimated to your site, please, and your terrific community. (I sometimes get going so many directions, I can’t find myself!) 🙂
