Inspiration Monday: can’t stop crying

0 Flares Filament.io 0 Flares ×

I’m guest-posting over at Raina’s home base, Writer’s Club KL,  going a bit more in-depth on a subject frequently discussed here: the power of storytelling. Check out the first installment here.

In other news, something is wrong with my comment system. Many real comments (including my own) are being shuffled into the spam folder. I’ve been checking the spam regularly to rescue them, and  I’m looking for ways to fix it. In the meantime, it may simply take awhile for your comments to appear on the site.

Okay, news over – enjoy this week’s reading!

The Rules

There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.

OR

No really; I need rules!

Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.

The Prompts:

CAN’T STOP CRYING

NEW CLOTHES

SPENT

CUTTING THROUGH THE HAZE

MAKING HATE

Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and link back to today’s post (here’s a video on how to do it); I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. No blog? Email your piece to me at bekindrewrite (at) yahoo (dot) com. (I do reserve the right to NOT link to a piece as stated in my Link Discretion Policy.)

Plus, get the InMon badge for your site here.

Happy writing!

  8. Last week (well, Tuesday this week) I started writing a serial (my first) called The River of Crawling Death a old timey Men’s Adventure story with a touch of steampunk (coming.) I wanted to use the InMon prompts but they weren’t up yet…but this week’s are up in time for Episode II! I’ll be adding to the story on Monday (US time) or Tuesday (Australian time.) The story (here: http://chriswhitewrites.com/2013/05/15/the-river-of-crawling-death/ ) is a “choose-the-protaganist’s-adventure”, so I need YOU to come along and vote to decide what happens next!
