Inspiration Monday: many names

0 Flares 0 Flares ×

So I just started watching Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse on Netflix. It’s pretty interesting so far. Also very similar to a book idea I got from a dream. Darn it.

If you have a minute, lend Olive some first paragraph feedback over here. Also, Chris had a short story published in Slit Your Wrist Magazine!

Now read some InMon!

The Rules

There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.

No really; I need rules!

Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.

The Prompts:

many names

it has teeth

exactly as it seems

fearless child
too much time

Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and link back to today’s post (here’s a video on how to do it); I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. No blog? Email your piece to me at bekindrewrite (at) yahoo (dot) com. (I do reserve the right to NOT link to a piece as stated in my Link Discretion Policy.)

Plus, get the InMon badge for your site here.

Happy writing!

  1. Thanks a lot for referencing me, and I’ll certainly act on your criticisms. There is just one small thing, though . . . my name’s Oliver, not Olive. Sorry about the confusion.

  3. Hello! It’s my first post here and I thought I’d do a twisty little children’s story…it’s not necessarily for the kiddies though 🙂

  7. Hi,
Here is my entry for this week.

Thanks for this word challenge, thought I don’t make it every time, but it doesn’t lessen my appreciation for it! Your blog is one of my best finds last year.

Thanks for the mention of This Old Man, Steph, and if that story is too rude for you, you could try out another of my stories that was published this week on Antipodean SF Love in the Time of Supercolliders:
