Sorry I’m late, folks. My Internet was down last night, as was/is the Internet of many others, apparently. For a few minutes, I sat in front of my computer wondering if this was how the apocalypse would begin. Then I went to bed early. I think I have another cold.

The Rules
There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.
OR
No really; I need rules!
Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.
The Prompts:
this is how it starts

smother

voiceless

Have not a cold! One should not have to face unexpected apocalypses with a cold.
Looks like it’s just really bad cedar allergies, actually. I’m feeling better now, mostly.
Cedar is blooming in your area?
I guess. The pollen counts say it is high. Is it early in the season for cedar to bloom? If so I’m sure it can be explained by the warm Texas weather.

Haven’t written anything in so long – banged this out at lunch. Then I thought about it and It might apply to all the prompts, maybe.

It’s early here in Tennessee, though the weather has been so weird that it is possible.
As we say in Texas, if you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.
Heh, yep. We say that here, too. This last week we had spring-like weather, then tornadoes then snow. One day I am admiring the crocus and the next my car is frozen shut. 😛 At least it’s never boring!
True that!
