Voice Week 2012 is on its way with nine Voice Writers signed up already! Welcome all! Tell me in the comments if you want to join in, too. It takes place October 1 – 5, but feel free to start writing now.

It’s been a great week for InMon, too. Look at all this great work!

The Rules

There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.

OR

No really; I need rules!

Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.

The Prompts:

Don’t watch the news
Empty frames
Pretend to be surprised
Now entering reality
Thimble clad

Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and link back to today’s post (here’s a video on how to do it); I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. No blog? Email your piece to me at bekindrewrite (at) yahoo (dot) com.

Plus, get the InMon badge for your site here.

Happy writing!

  1. Great prompts, Step, as usual! I’ve been writing a series of Twisters (Twitter-length (140 characters) flash fiction) based around the Ekka (Love the Bad Guy knows what I’m talking about (I think) they’ll be up on my blog sometime tonight after work, and I’ll definitely be using some of these prompts. I’m looking at it as though it’s VoiceWeek practice – I’ll be back to put up the link later!

  6. Wonderful, wonderful prompts. I had so much fun. I just want to ask, is there an InMon community on Facebook?

    • Sorry; no, we’re not on Facebook yet. My aversion to getting a personal Facebook page (rebel to the end) has thus far prevented me from getting a page for this blog. BUT I have been considering it. Maybe you can convince me. : )

  7. I wrote another short story using the first and third prompts, but I submitted it to http://www.101fiction.com/ , so I’ll have to either post it when it gets rejected or link it when it’s accepted…
