The Rules
There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.
OR
No really; I need rules!
Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.
The Prompts:
The unanswered phone
Hopeful romantic
Friends in low places*
Dissected heart

*Yeah, I know. This is a Garth Brooks song. Somebody at work found out I don’t listen to country, so they made me a mix CD. I like…some of it.
I guess I hit my head harder than I thought last Sunday (June 3) when I fell in the downpour and ended up with six stitches over my left eye …I checked several times to be sure I posted for this site…now I don’t even recognize the prompts…I must have done something weird with them and looked at the wrong week !
Had the stitches out today so am rarin’ to go ! These look like fun prompts.
Peace,
Siggi in Downeast Maine
Ow! I hope you’re okay!
I’m okay…my head is hard as a coconut, just seem to have been a bit more confused than usual as far as the date was concerned !
Well, I’m glad you’re all right. Tomorrow is Juneteenth!

Hi there! I had so many ideas for these prompts, I might have to come back and try another one later. But for now, here’s my story. Slight twist – I couldn’t decide between two different endings. I’d love to know which one people prefer.

Gah, it’s almost Saturday? I promise I am writing something…five somethings…
Don’t worry, you’ve got…three whole days!
Okay, in twelve hours I will be at a computer with the Internet. In twelve hours I will put up my linky!
Forgot my USB…
Ha! I see Murphy’s Law is chasing you around.
I’m watching the clock. ; )
