Yeah, this mostly applies to when you’re actually writing the book, but you can apply AIDA to any pitch. Start with a strange or arresting hook (attention), move into a summary of the story and why it’s different (interest), finish off with an open question that’s answered in the story; e.g. “will the hero choose to sacrifice his love for…” (desire) and tell them where to buy it and how much it is – possibly giving further incentive to buy it now; e.g. that you’ll autograph it and lower the price by 10% (action).
