Inspiration Monday XXIII

0 Flares Filament.io 0 Flares ×

Sorry I’m late, guys: computer problems! Still haven’t got them all squared away – I’m typing this on my work computer – so things may be a little spotty this weekend as well, but I’m hoping for the best. In the meantime, y’all can have fun reading! And writing! And remember, you can tweak the prompts any way you want to suit your story. : )

The Rules

There are none. Read the prompts, get inspired, write something. No word count minimum or maximum. You don’t have to include the exact prompt in your piece, and you can interpret the prompt(s) any way you like.

OR

No really; I need rules!

Okay; write 200-500 words on the prompt of your choice. You may either use the prompt as the title of your piece or work it into the body of your piece. You must complete it before 6 pm CST on the Monday following this post.

The Prompts:

Useless machine
Waiting for the end
The one thing you should never forget
We all knew the rule*
Her nose gave her away

Want to share your Inspiration Monday piece? Post it on your blog and link back to today’s post; I’ll include a link to your piece in the next Inspiration Monday post. No blog? Email your piece to me at bekindrewrite (at) yahoo (dot) com.

Plus, get the InMon badge for your site here.

Happy writing!

*Happens to be the first sentence of a short story I wrote awhile back. Too long to post, I think.

  11. Thank you, Stephanie, for your Inspiration Monday prompts. If only I had time to write more. They are quite inspiring. This time around I chose your last prompt and decided to make it a Tanka poem.
