  1. Haha! I was laughing when I read the title for this post. Your welcome!
About 5 ish months ago I was really upset about something and I wrote a flash fiction story called ‘Death to the Betrayer’ and I loved it. It wasn’t even that good but I was hooked on writing ever since I wrote that little piece. Ive been wanting to expand it into a better longer short story and I would like to get it published. So that’s why I asked.
Anyway, thanks for the awesome post. I expect the writers digest will be hearing from me shortly.

  2. Excellent post Stephanie. I would love to put up a link to your blog (provided you would like the associaton) 🙂

    • I have known writers who enjoy putting their short stories on their blogs yet I have been on the fence. Something held me back. Thanks for pointing out that works posted on blogs are considered previously published as this will allow writers to make the decisions that are right for them.

      • Yeah, it’s such a blurred line when it comes to online publishing. But from what I’ve read, most editors consider a blog “published.” Posting in private forums (for feedback from other writers, for instance) is okay, though. Glad I could help!

    • I would love it! Always feel free to link!

      • Thanks Stephanie. I have been thinking a lot about this post and it helped me make the decisions that were right for me. Consider me..subscribed 🙂

  4. Thanks for the information, Stephanie.

  5. I need to start finishing stories with the intention of publishing them. Thanks for the concise info, especially the link to a writer’s rights.
